Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Evidexi, your privacy, and how to get started.
Is this legal advice?
No. Evidexi provides educational resources and organizational tools to help you prepare for family court. For legal advice specific to your situation, consult a family law attorney in your state. Our guides are thoroughly researched, but they are not a substitute for professional legal counsel.
Is my data safe? Will my ex see what I type?
Our website tools do not store any data on our servers. Everything you type stays in your browser and is never transmitted. When you close the page, it's gone. We built it this way on purpose because privacy matters, especially in custody situations.
Is Evidexi really free?
Yes. All 50 state guides, all 9 playbooks, all interactive tools, and all blog content are completely free. No paywalls, no hidden fees, no bait-and-switch. We are building a premium app with additional features, but the website resources will always be free.
When will the Evidexi app be available?
The app is currently in development. You can join our Early Access program to be among the first to try it. The app will bring together all our tools in one place: incident logging, communication tracking, evidence organization, and court preparation.
Who created Evidexi?
Evidexi was built by a small team of parents who have personally navigated custody proceedings and the family court system. Every guide and tool is informed by real experience and thorough legal research. You can learn more on our About page.
How do I use the tools if nothing is saved?
Our browser-based tools are designed for quick reference and planning. You can screenshot your work, copy and paste it into a document, or use the tools to organize your thoughts before entering information into a more permanent system. The upcoming Evidexi app will offer full save and export functionality.
Are the state guides accurate for my state?
Each state guide is researched specifically for that state's custody laws, terminology, and court procedures. We regularly review and update them. However, laws change, and local court rules may vary by county. Always verify current requirements with your local court clerk or an attorney.
I just got served with custody papers. Where do I start?
Start with our Start Here page. Choose the path that matches your situation ('I Just Got Served'), and you'll get a step-by-step checklist of what to do right now. Then read your state's specific guide for local requirements and deadlines.
Can I share Evidexi with my attorney?
Absolutely. Many of our resources, especially the evidence binder guide and state-specific guides, are designed to complement the work you do with your attorney. Share any guide or tool that helps your case preparation.
How often is the content updated?
We regularly review and update our guides, state pages, and tools to reflect current laws and best practices. Blog posts are published on a rolling basis with new topics and strategies.
